Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data we process when you use StatFooty, on the website or in the StatFooty app, why we process it and the choices you have. We have written it to be read, not just accepted.

1. Who we are

StatFooty is operated by ExpertFusion Software and Marketplace FZ-C.L.L, a Free Zone Limited Liability Company registered with Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates under license number 2532231.01, with registered office at Meydan Grandstand, 6th Floor, Meydan Road, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.

For anything about your data, write to info@statfooty.com. We answer within one month, usually much sooner.

2. Data we collect

  • Account: your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), language, time zone and approximate country. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google account identifier.
  • Your preferences: the teams and competitions you follow, alert settings and whether you agreed to receive our emails.
  • Subscriptions: if you take StatFooty Pro, the store or payment provider tells us the plan, status and renewal dates. Payments are handled by Google Play, the App Store or Stripe. We never receive your full card details.
  • Devices: if you turn on match alerts, a push notification token for each device. If you add the home-screen widget, an access token for it.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser or app version, device type, pages or screens requested and the time of each request, recorded in server logs. We use the IP address to work out your approximate country, which decides the prices, languages and content shown to you. We do not access your device location.
  • Usage statistics: on the website, Google Analytics measures pages viewed and how the site is used. In the app, Firebase Analytics measures screens viewed and features used, only if you allow it.
  • Security records: sign-ins, password changes and similar account events, kept to protect your account.
  • Messages: what you send us through the contact form or by email.

3. Why we use it and our legal basis

  • To provide your account, follows, alerts, widget and Pro access: necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To process subscriptions, keep invoices and meet tax and accounting rules: contract and legal obligation.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix errors: our legitimate interest in running a safe and reliable service.
  • To show content, prices and features that apply in your country: legitimate interest and, where rules differ by country, legal obligation.
  • Usage statistics in the app, advertising on the website and our newsletter emails: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Website analytics: your consent where the law requires it, otherwise our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used.
  • Answering your messages: legitimate interest, or contract when you are a customer.

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. Our match models analyse football data, not people.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with providers who process it for us under contract, or where the law requires it:

  • Hosting: Vultr (The Constant Company), on servers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
  • Google: Sign in with Google, Firebase Analytics and Firebase Cloud Messaging (app alerts on Android), Google Analytics, Google Play billing and, on the website for signed-in members, Google AdSense with its consent message.
  • Apple: App Store billing and Apple Push Notification service (app alerts on iPhone).
  • Stripe: subscription payments on the website.
  • Authorities, courts or advisers, when required by law or to protect our rights.

5. International transfers

Our servers are in the European Union. We are based in the United Arab Emirates, and some providers, such as Google, Apple and Stripe, process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on adequacy decisions (including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified) or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account data, follows, alert settings, device tokens and Pro records: while your account exists. They are deleted when you delete your account.
  • Server logs: 14 days.
  • Security records: kept to protect accounts. When an account is deleted they are anonymised, so they no longer identify you.
  • Usage statistics: no longer than 14 months in Google Analytics and Firebase.
  • Invoices and payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Messages to us: as long as needed to answer them and handle any follow-up.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, and receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live or work. In Brazil, you can contact the ANPD.

8. Your choices

  • App usage statistics: off until you allow them, and you can turn them off at any time in Account.
  • Match alerts: turn them off in the app or in your device settings.
  • Emails: unsubscribe with the link in any newsletter or in your account settings. We still send essential account emails, such as password resets.

9. The StatFooty app

The app does not show ads, does not use advertising identifiers and does not access your location, contacts or photos. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). To delete your account and its data, follow the steps at https://www.statfooty.com/account-deletion

10. Children

Our service is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, or the minimum age set by the law of your country if it is lower and a parent or guardian has agreed. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls and regular backups to protect your data. No service is completely secure, so we also limit what we collect in the first place.

12. Changes to this policy

We will update the date at the top when this policy changes. If a change is significant, we will tell signed-in users by email or in the app before it takes effect.
